The Victoria Hospitals Foundation is searching for an experienced fundraiser to work

In the pursuit of major and planned gifts, the Major Gifts Officer represents the
Foundation to establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships
with volunteers, Island Health staff and physicians, and external stakeholders.
You would describe yourself as relationship-focused, client service oriented, selfmotivated and collaborative. You understand the unique needs of major donors. You take initiative, hold yourself accountable, and enjoy working in a values-based environment. Your sense of humour, exceptional communication skills, high quality
work standards and appreciation for the importance of advancing healthcare will
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, you will work closely with the
Research and Development teams to achieve fundraising goals. You hold a Bachelor’s
degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training, experience and
professional affiliation including three plus years’ experience in the solicitation and
stewardship of gifts ranging from $5,000 to $500,000.
You have demonstrated exceptional stakeholder relations and communication as well
as success in proposal writing. Familiarity with fundraising analysis, strategy and
tracking is essential. You are accountable for an annual fundraising goal achieved by
identifying, cultivating and ultimately soliciting major gifts.
